license plate

i need a bracket so that i can put my front license plate on my car
it got a new bumper a few months ago, and no holes or anything to hold a plate
my mechanic says i need to get some kind of the bracket from GM
anybody have any suggestions or know how i can get one?

Any dealer has it... all I did was go to a local auto parts store and ask for some plate mounting screws.. it came with everything I needed. Your new bumber should have screws in it. You have to take out the bird decal off the front, it should be under there.

They're required in Ohio too, fight the system, leave it off [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

See how much a ticket for it off is, and weigh it against not having it on the car. It is reguired here too, but I fight the system, I leave it off.

Plus on a 97 there isn't anything to take off like the 98+, you will have to get a bracket otherwise from dealer or gmpartsdirect.com

I've had my front one off the whole time I've owned the car (1.5 years) and never been pulled over for it. Keep it off!

Yeah, its not something they really pull you over with.. but its more of a "well, while you're already pulled over, might as well mark you down for this too"

not required in alabama, no inspections either, hell, insurance wasnt mandatory unntill '01...we're atleast 10 yrs behind the rest of the world
