I just got my rims put on the car today! :D . They're the eagle 077's. For those of you that have polished rims, what do you use to clean them? What shouldn't you use?

Be leary with spray on cleaners, they can stain or discolor the metal. The best results are from cream metal polishes. I have tried many kinds and the best I have found is Mothers Mag Polish. Its a little red jar with a white lid. Use it like a car wax, put a little on, let it dry, then buff your *** off. With any product, make sure you try it on a small spot first. Had a guy come into work the other day, he bought some Orange Blast Wheel Cleaner (its for painted rims & chrome, read the instructions) and sprayed it on all his polished rims and let them soak, stained the sh@t out of them, he used the Mothers to fix them.

I use Eagle One A-Z wheel cleaner each time I wash and it does a great job to keep them nice and shiny. It is a spray on wheel cleaner and I've never had a problem with it. I also have Eagle polished aluminum wheels by the way.

I just polished my rims for the first time, yesterday (I've had them for about a year and a half.) I used the Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish, and wow does that make a huge difference! And it was only like $6. They look amazing. It does take a while to polish them though, I've done two wheels so far and it took a little over and hour and a half. I did it a little different than waxing a car. Instead of simply applying a coat and taking it off, you should work on a section at a time and just keep rubbing (not necessarily applying a lot of pressure), but just keep rubbing until the polish turns black, and the wheel feels smooth, not rough, then you can buff off the excess polish for a perfect shine.
