i'd try first with a non-steel brush, steel wool might scratch up your TTII's

To help keep your chrome tips rust free, and long lasting - ol' Hot-Rodder trick...

Use a very light coat of WD-40. The lightweight oil in the lubricant will coat the metal, resisting rust. Spray onto a rag then wipe on. Or spray directly and wipe off.
