if by the '94 lettering, you mean this:

then they changed it to the new style in '98 when they did the whole little "make over" on the f-body.
    here's the new style:

and yeah i like the '98+ firebird writing better as well.

I guess i can get this at the dealer? I get a pretty nice size discount at the local pontiac dealer. Since my car will be getting some paint work done im thinking of switching to this and making them silver..

yeah i'm pretty sure you can get them at a dealer. i was thinking about getting red or silver for my car. still not sure what color accents i'm doing though. red, silver, blue, etc.

Yes, you can procure these badges at the dealer or GMPartsDirect if you give them the part number, which escapes me at the moment.

Upgrade to 98+ badges for ease in waxing - no more going over the badge with a toothbrush!

why not just remove the badges and have a clean look? when i took mine off it cleaned up the side a lot. i agree the 98-up style looks better, but i prefer no badges.

I left the badging on when I did the molding because I didn't want people to claim I was trying to make people think my car is a T/A.

no kidding. i found an easier way to do it than a toothbrush though... paint brush. one of the big ones (4" or so). it works a lot better. just cut the bristles down to about an inch long and it still takes some time but it's a lot easier than a toothbrush. i always forget to stay away from the badges when i wax.
