Hey all, first time poster here, but I've been reading this board for awhile for ideas, help, and pictures. I've had my '02 for a year and a half, but have never messed with it any until last weekend. My roommate works on his truck all the time and he is really getting me excited about working on my car. I've got some great ideas for my car once I get some money, ha. Anyways, this weekend, we painted my interior and also put a nice touch on the air filter lid. Pictures
That chrome looks beautiful!
What did you use to do that?
I tried duplicolor's chrome on mine, but if I clear coated it, it got a milky silver color. If I didn't, then it would rub off in my hand.
I tried a test piece (my fuse panel) and when I put the clear coat on, it also made it a milky white and took the metallic shine away. So I didn't put clear coat on the console parts. I managed to put them back on without fingerprints or scratches, but I am sure that it is very scratch prone and I'll have to maybe put on another coat down the road. The paint is very shiny, but there is not a bad glare from the sun...

Same here, I have it in the car now, but I am sure to redo it, I said F the clear coat, but the job is sub par without it, I know you did not use duplicolor
