Washing my car!!

The paint on my NBM Firebird is not looking its' best. I've done the waxing, but after researching it, I'm going to use polish. My question is...What products should I use from a local parts store? I know about Zaino and all that goes with it, but I'd rather be able to get something a little easier than that. So, would these steps be adaquate?

- wash with dish soap
- claybar
- wash with dish soap
- swirl and scratch remover (which brand besides that 3M stuff is good?)
- wash with car wash soap
- polish (which brand?)

I've seen some 'kits' come with wax and polish, is this neccessary?

Meguiars has a good line of products that are readily available, and not too expensive. They've got about everything you need from a good cleaner to polish, to wax.

I think step 3 needs to be wash with car wash soap.

Would the Meguiar's 3 step be good minus the wax step?

It would be ok so long as you can keep your car fairly clean. The polish is only going to get finish real clean & smooth, with a minimal amount of protection. I think its well worth the time to throw on a good coat of carnuba [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

If you can find a product called Wizards, get it! That stuff kicks butt!. It's not a wax, but a polish. I use it instead of wax actually.

wizards is really good, zaino also comes highly recommended, but i use meguiers...not too expensive and is found at every local auto store.
