Not a question, more of a statement for the people who do searches on t-top conversions.

today July 16th, 2004 www.tacreationsusa.com gave me this price quote on t-top conversion kit.

We have a package that is $600 (96-02 style tops), that includes everything except labor.

The package includes:

1 used Roof frame, cut at lower windshield & quarter pillars.
1 pair used 96-02 T-Tops.
1 used T-Top center molding.
1 used T-Top fiberglass roof panel.
1 set used T-Top mount brackets.
1 set used T-Top related interior trim panels.
1 used headliner
1 set used T-Top weatherstrip.
1 set used T-Top storage mounts.

Course they are adding in some parts that you don't really need in my opinion but I doubt they will knock much off on them. And I bet it would cost a few bucks to ship.

That seems like a very good price, to me. I know nothing about conversion kits, but $600 for those parts can't be too bad?

I just hope the labor doesn't rack it up TOO much.

Honestly its not the best deal but its not insanely overpriced. And its with a company so you don;t have to deal with private sellers and such.

i just did the ttop conversion and i also paid $600. the conversion really isn't hard to do, it takes alot of time but its really pretty hard to mess up. everything seems to be fixable. i didn't trust anyone in the area to do the labor, i tried to explain to them how to do the conversion from people's like mtmike's writeups, and they wouldn't listen. and then they wanted like 2 grand to do it. did it myself and it looks beautiful!

i think its a decent price. also, dont ever pay anyone to do it when the're asking 2K when you can do it yourself in a few days

a roof frame?!?! do you know what kind of work that would take to remove and then reweld on the entire roof? that's insane.

i'm still waiting on someone to beat my price of less than $200.

haha I know... I gave them a list of parts that I wanted and asked them to add anything commonly requested for t-top conversion..

and $200? feck who did you sleep with. There is this trans am that has been in an impound lot next to this shop that I go to alot for stuff for work, its been there a month, both windows are smashed out. Been really tempted to hop the fence and beat that $200 price

I think I am doing pretty decent and if I am lucky I will keep it under $300.

i got all my parts from a guy parting out a car in my car club for 250 delivered to about a mile from my house

1 used T-Top fiberglass roof panel.
both of thoes peices seem to me like they would be more work to do than they are worth IMO, thats a lot of welding to do and ou cant even tell where i cut the hardtop off of my roof panel

How much of a PITA is the conversion? Is there a lot of cutting involved? And can someone post some pics of a conversion? Thanks!

here is one I found

http://www.dw-zone.com/t-tops/t-top.asp

BTW I know kbb.com is flawed but trade in and private party, t-tops raise the value of my car ~$700
