  • Help: Paint Flaking/Cracking (PICS)

Hey, on my Camaro, I've got 2 areas of cracking/flaking paint (it's like an area was sanded off or something and around the edges of the cracks are white and sometimes transparent flakes). It's been this way since I Bought it, but the flaking got worse and is becoming more and more of an eyesoar. What can I do? I really can't afford a whole new paint job just for a few 2 or 3 inch paint flakes. Can I buy car paint and apply it myself? I've got some touch-up stuff for minor cratches and chips, but it won't work at all for my flaking, I need a whole coat of real stuff on the area.

My car has the same thing on the rear bumper. The only way to fix it is have it repainted. I am going to paint mine once I get an SS hood and spoiler.

its your clearcoat flaking off, it needs to be repainted. if you cant afford anything else, you could get the panel macco'd i suppose. thats the only cheap fix i can think of.
