  • Interior Painting.

I would like to paint some of the trim on my interior silver because I think it would look great with the rest of the interior. I tried painting my air vents chrome, but it turned out bad and the paint is actually peeling. Krylon makes the fusion paint that bonds to plastic, but they don't carry silver colors. Does anyone have any advice on what to use as far as paints, and how I should go about painting my trim pieces???

Sand the pieces you want painted first, then 2 light coats of a primer, and then 3 light coats of your custom selected paint.
One heavy coat of paint will look like crap and run on you. 3-4 light coats look much better!

yea make sure you sand them down nice and then wash them. Then follow it up with some layers of primer and then paint. They will turn out great and won't peel.

be careful and dont go overboard... you will end up hating it like i did... i replaced EVERYTHINg because stripping the paint off was a PITA... so now i have slightly discolored interior, when the sun hits it you can tell a slight difference in the shades, i think its because some of the interior stuff came from an older bird... oh well i have a shot of the inside of the car all painted up when i smashed my windshield in after forgetting to put the hood pins back on, look here
