    when i bought these the dude said "WHITE LEDS" wtf....

      i still think its a voltage problem casue they are white in the first pic but once you turn on your headlights (which is when even the amber ones get dimmer) they look more blue

        It's the white balance shift in the camera. The color of the LED's will not change as long as they are receiving 12v and 110mA current (which is very little). If the voltage dropped below 12v, ALL of the lights would dim! ;)

          i think both of you are right, the voltage MUST be cut because when you have regular bulbs in, they dim when you turn on the headlights, so i dont think THAT is the reason for the blue color, i think thats because of the camera, but I think that when the headlights are on, they do look not as good.. anyone have any idea how to make sure that 12v power is constantly supplied to the LEDs? Maybe splicing in power directly from the battery? but maybe that would mess up the blinker function? unless the blinker is a switch on the ground of the light... hmm any one able to clear this up?

            You are over thinking this... the power applied to your bulbs is over 13V unless you're running an extremely HIGH load (hugh amp/stereo) or you have a bad alternator. Voltage to the LED's has nothing to do with the intensity or color. The LED fixture requires 12V to illuminate. It's the current that determines intensity. Believe me when I say, there's nothing you can do to affect the current to the LEDs without damaging the product!

            The LEDs will look more blue when the other bulbs are turned on. You just notice the blue hue more because the standard halogens are yellow in color. It's just a trick your eyes play on you. Don't worry about it! ;)

              but thats just it, the reason i got them is for the "look" so if its going to play tricks on my eyes, then i dont want it! LOL

              I think that I want to go back to the white bulbs i had in before, they dont look better at all... but it matches the other bulbs ya know??

              still, whats the deal with the DRLs loosing a filament when you turn on the headlights? there has to be some sort of power cut to it. THERE HAS TO BE!!! seriously, look at your drls (if you have a bird at least) and when you turn on your headlights, the drls dim....

                There is no power cut. A regular 1157 light bulb has two filaments. One filament is rated 7 watts the other is rated 20 watts. When DRL's are on (parking lights off), the 20 watt filament is applied 12v. When parking lights are on (DRL's off), the 7 watt filament is applied 12v.

                Same concept with the LED bulbs... there are two 12v contacts (plus a ground) just like the 1157 bulbs. Instead of filaments the LED bulb contains resistors that limit the amperage to the individual LED's. Therefore, when DRL's are on, more current flows through the LED's (brighter). When DRL's are off, less current flows through the LED's (dimmer). The dimmer the LED's, the less excited the phoshor coating gets and the less bright and white they appear. ;)

                  ok so how do i go about eliminating the switch from 20 watts to 7 watts? can i cut the 7watt 12v and splice in the 20watt to it so that it will always have 20 watts?

                    No because then you will not have working turn signals with your headlights on. It may also damage your Body Control Module (BCM)! :(

                        forgive my ignorance but what is the BCM? and why couldnt you just (this is probably far to much work) rewire the lights independant from the headlights and foglights

                          my guess is that the BCM is the main wiring harness that supplies power and relayed power to all of the devices... basically if you tamper with it and send overpower something, you might melt some wires together or something and screw up something else... im sure there is a way to just cut the wires somewhere and do somthing custom but for these LEds.. i guess im just not that interested lol...

                          i am thinking about sending back my LEDs... i really like them, but they will only look good when complimented with HID lights of some sort, or whiter foglights lol...

                          in trying to go whiter, i went TOO white and now other lights dont seem to match....

                          Blackbyrd, if you want to take up this project, i'd be willing to sell you my LEDs, otherwise im going to see if i can get my money back... for not being satisfied and what not LOL...

                          thanks for the help Jason, VERY smart in the ways of electrical!!! you need to post more often and help us out with custom junk :-D

                                yeah im dont with them i guess...

                                the place i got them from charges a total of 24.95 shipped, so ill sell em to you for 20 shipped... that sounds like a pretty good deal to me, i got it in an envelope, so i thinkill do the same for you, i prefer paypal, so whenever you decide, paypal me 20 bucks and ill have them on their way to your address no later than the day after, i check my mail twice a day so... whenever your ready ill pop em out..

                                the flashers in our cars might be thermal? so they rely on the heat or the amp-pull of the incandecent bulbs, since LEDs pull so little power, the flasher (if its thermal) might not se that its even there, and cause it to flash faster (thats how it tells you that your bulb is out) so you might need to pop in an electric flasher you can get at any autoparts store, and they sound better than that broken click noise factory ones make.... anyways lemme know! i enjoyed them as long as my other lights werent on... if i wanted to make it look awesome, i would go with different fog bulbs (hyperwhite ones or somthing) and some HID headlights too... that would be REALLy cool... they would all have a sorta blueish/white color to them... anyways, good luck with the project, keep us all updated here too
