I really like the TT-2/smoothie 2 type wheels but they only seem to come in polished aluminum. I found some wheels at Discount Tire called Replica Alloys that look very similar to the TT-2 but in chrome. Just wanted a few opinions on how you think "chrome" would look on this kind of wheel or should I just go with aluminum? Here's a LINK to show you which wheels I'm talking about.
These only come in (17" x 10.5"). Not sure how big of a tire I could use with these without worries of rubbing; maybe 275/40/17"s?
Thanks
Chrome would look very similar to polished aluminum, except it would have a more "reflective" look, I guess. It all depends on the polishing process and whether the wheels are clearcoated or not WRT the depth of the gloss.
The real difference is in how you care for them - non-clearcoated polished aluminum wheels need special care. Chrome wheels can use regular chrome wheel cleaner and don't need polishing.
unfortuntely, the tt2's are not manufactured in chrome. You have to get them custom. If u want the real deal and not a replica - Heres a guy that got his chromed and is selling them. Its a great deal. http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread...hreadid=158457
