• The Flames are redone.....

I got the car back on Thursday night but I've been sick since Thursday so I didnt post this sooner and even missed my Grandmother's funeral yesterday because I was so sick. Some horrible stomach/intestinal virus I got and a couple other people at the flowershop....think it may have been the salad we had from the pizza place next door :(

Anyway I got the car back from being repainted. I must say the candies sure were awesome and I miss them. The colors are kind of brighter now but they no longer have the depth and "wet" look :( . Unless you saw the car in person you probably can't tell from the pics. The color on the front is a 2003 Porsche color....not sure which one but the code it L1A8. The purple he brightened up a bit with a special mix he made and the tips though are still the candy magenta! All he did was repaint the front end and the purple. The shadow, outline and tips are the same.

Now I have to go and clean all the compound from the door jams...cracks...etc ....blahh.. I might feel well enough to do it today.

Anyway here is the new paint

Oh and my apologies to Max and Tasha....sorry I left BK without saying goodbye....I started feeling really sick so I went on home :( :(

Time to repaint all the interior parts now
Looks really good, have you ever considered removing the side trim? ..or a spoiler?

Actually the interior wasnt an exact match to the candy and now matches the outside even more :D . I have thought about removing the side trim but need to save against door dings. I like the way it looks too but I know you removed yours and it also looks good. I've thought about possibly adding a spoiler like you have or swapping for the T/A one but just not sure what to do.....if anything.

looks great Michelle. Sorry to hear about you being sick :( get better soon!!! And ive always thought you should get a TA spiler and hatch for your car, it would really set off the car, but thats just my opinion. I really hate the formula wing/hatch
but its still lookin great!! get better!

I'd say get the mecham wing, but be ready for a lot of fitment and weight w/ bondo to make it look perfect. i think it would go well w/ ur body kit, and u'd never have 2 worry about double sided tape letting the wing fly off at high speeds. I like the paint job, looks like the guy focuses on quality, which is great.

About removing the side molding, I think it would look good, cuz having it on there as pewter and the formula as the orange fading to purple doesn't really match. maybe if u made the molding fade from orange in front to purple in rear, that would match a lot better. i dunno, just throwing out some ideas for u 2 think about.

i was just about to make a post on this. nice to see it fixed. like the other guy said, did it cost you more to get it redone, or did he do it for free since it was basically his fault?

you can see a difference? I cant. I'm guessing that the orange doesnt have the sparkles in it? is that correct? I'll see it someday

Still looks great. Not to make you feel any worse but I can see what your talking about, I can tell the difference. The candi paint kind of jumps out at you this just looks flat. Still awesome though

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling almost back to normal today but still havent quite gotten rid of the bug :( .

I actually think I like this better then the candies after seeing it today in the sun and feeling about the best I have in 4 days. The paint is a pearly metallic and very pretty! The colors are brighter then before too especially where the purple is. I wish I could've take some other pics today of it but I spent the afternoon trying to get the compound off/out of places

Yes the candy paint looked like it was "one with the paint"...as if it was just laying there.
