• Double Vision Hood

Anybody know anything about these hoods. Who makes them. Are they any good. Does anyone have one and would you reccomend one. One more thing, it's between this and as SS hood. Which one do you like better. Heres a pic on a rather awesome Camaro.

Not sure who makes em, but I see them on ebay all the time.

IMO save the nostrils for the bird and go with the SS hood.

E-bay is where I seen the one that gave me the idea of getting one. But I could only find one for the 98-02, none for the 93-97. I'm leaning more towards the SS hood anyways because the one I'd be getting is off an actual SS, not aftermarket. I don't want to buy an aftermarket SS hood, not unless I just have to.

usbody.com makes a hood exactly like that one in the pic, it's called a Ram Air II hood, but I would also have to say leave the nostrils to the Firebirds, I just dont think they look right on Camaros IMO.

What's the differnce...anything aftermarket never fits like oem parts. Aren't the oem ss hood's metal, unlike aftermarket ss hoods which are fiberglass. And I can get a oem ss used alot cheaper than a new aftermarket one.

02Bsogood--- The Stock SS hoods are Fiberglass. It would be Extremely hard to mold steel with such sharp lines as the one's on the SS hood. I had a friend that hit a Pheasant and it cracked his factory SS hood. so i know they are Fiberglass. Hope That helps.

Thanks for the info Camaro_Guy00. Believe it or not I've never actually got to touch or look at an ss hood up close. Close as I go to one was looking at them while driving by the dealership. Around here, no one drives an ss.

Nahhhhhhh, I'm a Camaro guy, I have nothing against a Firbird. Actually when my sister had her 95 Firebird it was about half and half, some people liked her car better, some liked mine more. She had an unfair advantage, hers was red, and had t-tops, people like the color red on cars, but mine has a 3.8 and hers was a 3.4. But her's is totaled now,(RIP, it got drove under the rear end of a newer Dodge Ram ) so mine is the cooler of the 2 now. :D :D

The hood on that car looks pretty good, i considered it a long time ago. Somebody already mentioned it but they have them at carhoods.com, i think it would look really good in person. If you have a '98+ body style the hood looks magnificant.
