What are my options with this, I took it to a local tire / rim shop, they said for chrome its gotta get sent away to like louisiana and will cost $900 )canadian price) per rim! Anyone have any realistic options for this? Basicly the rims have some small spots on them (pits i guess) And my front rims have a discoloration (from salt/brake dust i presume) streaks on them. Can someone help me with some ideas.

what kind of rims and what size? sometimes for $900 you can get a new set of rims, that is absurd... good luck -
They are WS6 stock rims off a 1999 trans am, I don't have money for new rims, I'm hoping someone knows where to have rims chrome dipped / platted or should I just have the chrome grinded off and paint them?<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=401701\" target=\"_blank\">3.4L Red Firebird</a>Comment

..try using rim cleaner, i seen some out there ment to 'restore' chrome a bit. They live out their lives, after its all dead just take em off and have em powder coated black or silver or something [img]smile.gif[/img]
Its insane to have em re-chromed for 900 each, hell u can nearly buy a whole set of rims for that price!!!
...my wheel guy advised me of the chrome issue so that is why i got polished rims, which when clean look just like chromes [img]smile.gif[/img]

Heh, well I have tried rim cleaner (chrome turtle wax brand) and they shine up nice but doesnt remove the pits obviously :(<a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=401701\" target=\"_blank\">3.4L Red Firebird</a>Comment
