OK I think I have my process down

Wash with Meguiar's NXT wax

Clay with Meguiar's clay kit

Wash again

Use P21S Paint cleansing lotion

Apply Klasse AIO

Apply Klasse sealant glaze, at least one coat [img]smile.gif[/img] This stuff really shines up your paint and gives months of protection.

Wax with P21S Carnauba wax or Pinnacle Souveran. I've heard that Pinnacle is great on dark cars, but it costs about $70 a can. :eek:

From everything I've heard, NO product will last more than 6-8 months.

After the P21S paintwork cleanser I will sometimes polish with 1Z and a porter cable buffer, which I need to acquire. hopefully that will remove any swirl marks. When I get my car and my stuff and do the work I will post pics. :D

There are no finished pics, that is what I will be doing when I get my car back and am able to wax it (at least a month.) I've been doing a lot of product and technique research and this list is what has come of it.

Gimme some pictures, there should be a dramatic difference in how the water beads between when you first waxed it and now. The problem with Zaino is that it tries to be a sealant and a wax all in one, but a wax should be a wax and a sealant should be a sealant. It's kind of like using shampoo and conditioner all in one, doesn't quite work the same.

If you start eliminating a lot of the products in the Zaino kit like Shenanigans suggests then it doesn't really matter, you're still going to have to buy clay bars and quick detailer. one of the real selling points the Zaino bros have tried to hammer home is the process used when applying their products. What I say and what many professional detailers say is that as long as you have a quality product (I.E. NOT Turtle Wax,)the PROCESS is what matters, not so much the product used. That being said, continue to think that your Zaino is some kind of wonder wax that will bead water eight months from now like it did the day you applied it.......

Like said before, there is better stuff out there, but zaino looks damn good, and lasts a long time. I am willing to bet your detailing will look better then if you zainoed, but how much, how long will your stuff last and how much is it costing?

Like you said when you use a good product, prep work is the key. Then it goes to what lasts a long time. I agree you shouldn't start taking away prep stuff, reason why I said it is because people are saying, this is cheaper then Zaino. Then spend the same money or more because they go out and buy all the prep stuff and other accesories on the side.

I mean it will likely look better, and to some its worth the extra work, for me I'd rather spend one day detailing and being very hands off on the car.

Does the hood/roof/spoiler, not bead water as well? Of course not, thats alot to ask on a outdoor car in FL. Still looks good, hood, "old roof", and spoinler get dirtier quicker, the sides of the cars actually bead up pretty well and don't get waterspots as easily is the top sections of the car.

Whats the car been through? 3 hurricanes, numerous rain storms, 100% outdoors in FL, and most recently metal/fiberglass cutting

Then rain it through a carwash twice in a row(leak testing) then it got rained on twice, and I feel it looks good, though the hood and spoiler could use a cleaning and waxing.


But as always like I say, use what works for your car everyone's situation is different, this stuff works great for me. youre doing all that you might as well by the porter cable buffer/polisher too... then you can apply polish which shines more than any of the waxes

I am going to buy the PC polisher.

It's still better for thepaint to wax more often than 8 months, even if after that time there is still some product left on the paint from your last wax.

I agree on that... but I am lazy at keeping the car clean. Hence why I like zaino so much. Keeps it clean more easily. Can't wait to have a garage and driveway I will spend more time washing and cleaning it.

Mine steps are this:
Wash & Dry
Clay
AIO
EXP

I don't wash again as I wipe it down as I clay. I don't use cleaner as AIO has Solvent Cleaners in there already and my paint is in good shape with no scratches or oxidation. I topped it with wax once, and it didn't do much. Seems like deminishing returns the more stuff u apply.

I also clean the fender liners and apply 303. Apply 303 on the wiper nut covers, weatherstrips, grille, cowl and interior dash and console.

Apply AIO on the peanut headlamps, taillamps, park lamps, wiper arms, wheels and windshield. Apply EXP on the Windshield.

Metal Polish on my tips. Spray Armor All in the rear wheel wells. And, of course, the all important tire shine.

What does the interior finish look like with the 303? I know a lot of people don't like the shine that AA leaves, but I do. Anyway, I ordered some of the 303 to try it out and I was just curious.
