ok, my ground effects should be done painted by the end of today and i plan on gettin them installed tomorrow evening. i had a thought though. my nose has some scrapes on it where its hit the ground about an inch long. kinda noticable even after the front peice ground effects are put on. the person painting it said he would touch up the nose so it wouldnt be as noticable, but now wonder, how will i prevent the ground effects from getting scraped also? as much as ive tried to go over bumps slow, some inclines around town are just too steep and i scrape anyway. ive seen body spacers on cars in import mags and thought that was the only idea good enough to prevent paint chipping. but would it look dumb? i dunno, depends on what is more important. how would you make em? what other options could i have to prevent any chipping?

when you turn into a steep incline, dont go straight on, go at it at a angle.

I have found, that our cars are doomed on bumps and driveways, Unless you get one of your front wheels to hit the incline before the other, like he said..an angle is the best ;) works wonders

The Firebird scrapes in some places no matter what angle you take it at or how slow you go. It's the low spots on each side that get scraped. Can't do anything about it. The bottom of the Camaro's bumper is flat and doesn't have the low points though. 2200 miles and not a scratch.

just take inclines at an angle...the greater the incline, the greater the angle. i drove a dodge ram with 10" of ground clearance before i got the 'maro...i scraped once after i bought the 'maro, (like the day after) but learned about the angle thing, and haven't had a scrape in the last 15,000 miles. & if the incline is very great, angle & go SLOW!

I've always thought covering the bottom and 1/2" up the body with a black kevlar paint. I don't think it would work well on the back bumper, but it might work on the sides and front.

Forget it. When we go to Costco or Sams Club, I hafta take my truck, the speed bumps are like 9 inches tall.

I have seen cars with airbags on the front. So they can raise up with flip of a switch.

Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
