  • A stupid question?

Does anybody no if its possible to take a front clip off of a newer 98' or newer model and put it on a 97' or older style firebird. The reason why I ask is because I like the 98' and newer styles better but my parents wont let me get one because there to expensive they want me to get a car newer then a 96' but in the price range of 5,000 to 7,000 and get a car with 50,000 or less miles which is damn near impossible and also to add to the fustration i live in Iowa and anybody who lives in Iowa knows that there isnt any firebirds out here at all and if you do no where a bunch are in Iowa I would appreciate if you let me know where. Then they brought up the fact that maybe i should look into getting a differenct car but im determind to get a firebird. But anyways i was just wondering I know you would probaly have to change the hold and the side fenders and it would probaly cost a fortune to do but i was just wondering and if anybody else has thought about this or has done it i would appreciate a reply. thanks

There's this thing called punctuation. Look, there it is. Right there. Periods. :D

I'm just messin' with ya, but I'm sure you'll get a better response if it is easier to understand your question!

It's possible to make it look like a 98+. You'll need a new front clip and a new hood. I'm not sure about the fenders, but I think they might be the same. It's probably harder to do on a Firebird because of the pop-up headlights, so you'll need to change those too. It might be cheaper to just buy a 98 to start with.

(whew!) I'm desperately trying to say each sentence in one breath. I can't do it! I'm turning colors like Elmer Fudd.

Before you start on a project, make sure that you won't have to run any special wiring harnesses, or throw the computer off by changing something around.
I would personally buy a 98, but some people like to be creative. ;)

you're gonna need a lot more than just a hood and a nose...that guy has a parts list of all the stuff he needed plus the prices and part #s

          hope this helps
