using sander paper on chrome is just stupid to me... try just getting some waxes or sprays from a local auto store

You will need a polishing compound paste and a buffer that fits on a drill. Also, you'll need patience, alot of it too. I look here quite often when I am doing auto body projects. http://autobody101.com/forums/index.php
Go to the "color sanding, buffing, polishing, etc" section, there's alot of info there that may help you.

Haha...I'm glad someone else thought that too. Um, Mother's makes a rim polish. It worked really well on my 87 cutlass supreme. It comes in a small can. You apply it with a rag and buff it in until it creates like a blackish color. Then you wipe it off with another rag...very simple and cheap. I think I bought it from Napa or something.
