I have noticed a bunch of posts recently debating good waxes/polishes. IMHO the very best polish is from 3M called 3M Hand Glaze. I have gotten the absolute best shine ( along with very reasonable durability and ease of application) even when compared to heavyweights such as Meguiars.
Thats what you put on if you got a hot date. Wont last to long though. Liquid Glass is pretty close to 3m's standards but you'll get much longer protection out of it. or you can jump on the zaino bandwagon. I did and am happy with it. May not shine as good as the 3m but it will outlast it ten-fold. and if you wanna bling it one night just throw some handglaze on it and your set.
I have some of that Hand Glaze and its offers zero protection, its not supposed to. Normally you do coat or two of then then wax over the top of that. It just fills in the small swirls. I like Zaino the best though.

Here is the link for the 3M hand glaze product so that you can get an idea of what it looks like. The product for the average retail consumer is the third and last one in the gray bottle and can be purchased at most chain auto supply stores. The others are for "professional" use and cannot be found at most retail outlets, but have even better performance.
the best thing you can do is go buy a porter cable 7336 at lowes for 99$ and then go to meguairs.com and order a set of 6" buffing pads along with the #83 and go to town...
This buffer is the same buffer that is used on that truck.
