• Eurolights sealed beam conversion warning.

Well, last year I purchased a sealed beam conversion kit from Euroworks.

http://www.eurolamps.com/eurolamps/sealedbeams.htm

The kit was nice, and the ballasts were good quality. After using them for a little over a year there has been no issue.

However, a rock recently hit one of my lenses on the freeway and cracked it. I wrote the company through their web site, and e-mail four times now, and no response.

I have asked a simple question, can I buy a replacement lens? or do I need to buy an entire kit again? Which I was willing to do because then I would have 3 extra lenses if ever needed.

I am VERY dissapointed. I have recieved no response after contacting them 4 times. They have no phone number posted on their web-site. I can honestly say I will never deal with them again.

I wanted to let everyone here know about how they seem to work. If your considering a sealed be conversion or HID kit, go elsewhere. Aparently this company is not interested in keeping a customer, or providing any customer service.

Does anyone here know of other places I can get replacement lenses?

As alwasy... Thanks!

;)
Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

Skip that. Get real fancy with a knife and some
gasket sealant. Remove the lens off a normal H4701 replacemnet bulb. Might be ghetto, but I betcha it will still work! I am currently using the Eurobulbs housing and and H7 bulb rated at 120 watts (looks purple). Got a CATZ headlight booster too, and the housing seems to holdup pretty well. Forget contacting the bozos. They
are not really customer friendly. Wasn't there
a post on this site about converting the OEM bulb
housing using a dremel tool?

I put H7 Silverstars in Wagner H4703 housings (from O'Reilly's), and then put those in my Firebird Monday. I used high temp silicone to seal them, which you can find in the auto department of Wal-mart. I have step by step pictures and will probably do a write up sometime this weekend if I have time.

CM Boyd: I did basically what you said you did. I also remember someone talking about converting the OEM housings. However, the stock sealed beam lights are a piece of solid glass at the rear. I tried using a glass cutter on them but I shattered one and got glass in my finger and started bleeding all over the place. I do not recommend using the original bulbs for this conversion.

PS. I emailed them a few weeks ago about getting a housing and never received a response.

I wish that I had read that write up before I shelled out $85.00 for the Eurolights version. Yeah, the stock ones are glass, but all the replacement ones that I have found have a housing
made of metal (Sylvania or Valucraft). I would kill to find someone who can convert the lens to
a projector style! You really cannot appreciate the bulbs until you have a really good lens (or
pay good money for HID).

uhhh ok.... where? Anyone have a link, or web site?

I'm starting to think this was a huge waste of time, money, and effort. I should have just kept my dim sealed beams and been done.

don't give up so easy...

If I were you and I had the Screaming Chicken car I would buy replacement Silverstar sealed beams and that would help a tad bit, but I would do this to supplement the headlamps:

Last time I checked I could not get silver stars in a sealed beam. :-( Sooo that is why I did the conversion.

I also upgraded my fog lights to Xeon 55 watts. I just wish I could keep them on when the brights are on. Now you would really get some light. Heh heh. :)

If Sylvania makes our sealed beams in silvers stars now, does someone have the part number?
Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

I don't know the number but I read somewhere about silver stars for the Pontiac but none for the sealed beam Camaros. And there is a mod where you can keep the fogs as well as low beam when the highbeams are turned on for the Camaro as well as the Firebird, you need to search it as I am lazy.
As for your fogs, it sounds like all you did was changed the bulb, that don't do much, I changed mine from 37.5 watts to 50 watts, barely, if any diff. You need to change that whole housing like the link I provided. Look at the Pilot set on this Camaro:
