just a quickie question...

which is the best stuff to apply to the tires (can be tire and wheel cleaner, although my salad shooters look good), to make the tires really nice looking

i want a really clean look, not particularily wet, or shiney looking, just black, and consistant, which wont turn brown within a week

i hear eagle one stuff is really good...

    thanks for your input

Don't treat tires -- it'll never come off and you'll never get traction, ever again.
    Shine the wheels though!

i'm just talking about the side walls of the tires, they've got a bit of road rash from the previous owner, and i just want a really nice dark, mat finish...

ok, thanks for the advice, i just thought i was using bad stuff on my old 2.3L mustang, but the tires were made of plastic (i'm not being too sarcastic either- cheap-o!), but if you guys dont advise it, my camaro will stay as is i don't wanna hurt my baby

there was a post a while back on a civic forum of a kid who armor-alled his tires. Not just the sidewall either, the whole thing tread and all. Needless to say that night he hot rodded around a corner and ended up in someones house. Ever since then all the tire dressings scare the **** out of me. When my tires get dull looking, its usually time for new tires and with the curb rash it might do ya some good. As long as the treads worn down enough to signify new tires.

By that statement I'm not sure what you're referring to.....Tires or Wheels???

If tires then I've used Zaino Tire Gloss and most recently really like the Tire Gel made by Black Magic...the plain kind of course not the tinted stuff

For wheels I use Mequires Wheel Polish :D

I use a gel type stuff that I spread on with a foam applicator pad. It's made by Meguire's but I can't remember the exact name. It's purple and smells like grapes! It leaves the slightest shine and last several weeks. Most of the silicone based spray bottle stuff spins off in a few days and gets all over the fenders. :( Using the foam pad is much neater than the spray bottles and easier to clean up. Actually, you don't have to clean up because it only gets on the tires!

I use the Zaino, doesn't sling off & not too shiny, it just makes it look clean.

I occasionally put Armor All tire foam on the sides of the tires - quick and easy to apply - just let it dry completely. If you use this stuff, beware because they have two varieties- the "basic" stuff and the "better" stuff. Spend the extra $ for the "better" stuff. You'll use less of it, it lasts longer and it looks better.
