Is it possible to paint the brakes a different color? My car is solid black and I'm using red as my accent color. I'd like to have my brakes painted red as inexpensively as possible (*if* possible ). Is it something I could do myself or would a proffesional have to do it? Also, would the paint fade eventually and would I loose my brake's effectiveness any?

Welcome to the club. Modding is fun.
you don't actually paint the brakes, you paint the calipers / drums. Basically, you paint the parts of the braking system that don't brake. It's the inside areas of the calipers which touch the pistons and the brake pads to the discs, so the outside (what everyone paints) is free to be painted. There are numerous writeups on how to do it. You just clean, cover everything, and brush or spray. Lots of coats. Some wax?

search this forum for "calipers" you'll get pictures and stuff... actually someone just had a post up with a picture of a red caliper. I'm getting my done, its not hard either. You just buy caliper paint (expensive, around 50 bucks from what I hear) and then take of wheels, paint, wait to dry, coat again, and then put wheels back on same way. No need to allign since you put same wheels on same places.2002 Silver Metallic A4 Firebird - All Options
