I was bored last week so I decided to paint some of my interior parts. For anyone that hasn't done this it's a piece of cake, and it looks so much better than stock. I was surprised at the difference it made, and am very happy with the new looks.

duplicolor silver, and clear coat. few coats of each. NEVER deteriorated of lost color. Did everything but the instrument panel bezel. Wish I woulda gone with a darker color (car color)...
I got tired of it after 8 months.
I don't really like the tan in the car too much either, but that's what it came with. I plan on swapping it all over to black/silver scheme over time, so I hafta start somewhere. When looking at the dash, the silver looks good. The tan is odd though with the black dash, is that normal in camaros? I have seen pics of other cars that have a black dash and everything else tan.
Thanks for the compliments. It was pretty straight forward. I just popped out the pieces. The Shifter console is a lil hard. You just hafta drop it back into 1st gear, and pull the little pin off the shifter knob. And then the coin tray in the compartment slides up and there are two screws also under that. But then I just lightly sanded them all down and took off that glazed-like finish. Wiped them clean with windex. Then 2 light coats primer, 4 coats silver. I didnt clear coat most of the parts b/c whatever clear coat I bought kept thinning the paint down to the primer. So I only lightly clear coated the center console, and you can barely tell the clear coated thinned it up. The key as a lot of people have said before is in light coats. I'd spray it, go watch a 30 minute tv show, then do the next coat. The paint adhered to the plastic easily, and even took a good amount of twisting and abuse. The part around the speedo has to be twisted a bit to slide in and out. Any other ?'s shoot em my way, and I know plenty of others have done it to their car too.

I used something called Plasti-kote in silver metallic that I picked up at my local auto parts store. It was just an everyday spray paint. The clear coat was some Duplicolor I had laying around my house from when I painted my bike last year. I would suggest just getting matching brands with a clear that is made for whatever paint you use. My clearcoat had a section that said not to use on enamel paints; It worked with the enamel bike paint last year, so I assumed it would with this too but it didnt. Just make sure you get a matching clear, or, as long as you dont abuse it much, I would assume the colors would last fine without clear for quite some time too.
