  • Someone hit my NEW car!!!!!

Ok, here's the deal the guy me in the when I was breaking REALLY hard to avoid hitting the guy int front of me. He hit the lower porsion of the bumper because the rear was higher in the air than usual. It kind of crunched the bottum of the bumper under when he hit it. As a result it has small hair-line cracks and one spot where it completely cracked. Now to the questions. Does GM sell new bumpers with the paint already on them? How do you take of the bumper? I want to do the install myself so someone doesn't try to glue the bumper that's already on there. Thanks for the help.

Ia m not sure, but to feel your pain, a week after my dad got the car I drive, guy hit the rear bumper and nearly ripped it off in a parking lot, Not somehting you like to see when your car has less then 1k on it. Then 2 days after my dad got his 2k Camaro someone drilled his door with another and dented the car, he was able to cover it up with teh bumper strippping he ordered from the dealer.

As far as I know GM doesnt sell bumpers already painted. My car is going in the shop tomorrow to replace a new front bumper and front fender along with other things. A 24ft Budget truck backed into me at a stop sign when I was behind him :( . The parts are coming unpainted from GM.

Sorry about your car...I know how it is :( . Take a look at my bird :(

No, GM does not sell the parts already painted. Unless there is some really bad damage you wont need to replace the entire bumper. What you'll probably have to replace is just the bumper cover. Those run approximetly $350 but do not come painted. You could remove the bumper yourself but unless you are going to paint it as well I'd leave it to the body shop.

I also cry everytime I see the damage on my car :(
But yesterday I took it to the body shop and hopefully she'll be done by Thursday with a new front bumper, front fender, some structural parts and a repainted driver's side door. Total cost $1750 for repairs. Here's another pic I took this past Saturday.
