Can those plastic hood peices be popped out and accually have the holes drilled into them so they catch some air?

I havent tryed and I am at work right now - I cant really check. It's sorta bugging me.
I imagine they can be painted but would it be benificial to drill the holes out in them for the cooling of the engine?

    Thanks
    - Dave
