  • Home made shift boot (auto)

i picked up some material from the local fabric store. i dont know how to describe it really, i guess its like a vinal, but it feels like leather. i cut the pattern and had my mom sew it up for me, then i took apart the center console. at the base of the auto shifter there are all those slidey things (sorry for the tecnical description). The top slidey thing has a notch on each side. i cut slits in the bottom of the boot i made and slipped it over the notches and put the slidey thing back in, then put the console trim piece back on iver it and voila:

I did the same exact thing, and I also got the shift adapter to put any manual shift knob on there. It makes the car look a lot better :D

there is a staple on the front of the shifter about halfway down (front being the side towards the radio). you have to pry it out. a thin flathead screwdriver works the best.
