  • *:-D Update.. Insurance Quote* Pics: Pothole Damage :-(

Last night I was driving on a back road, cars were coming in the other direction so I was in the center of my lane. Out of nowhere BANG I hit a HUGE pothole about 4-5 inches deep. It dented both of my passenger side rims. Same thing happened to 2 old ladies that were parked on the side of the road with a flat in a brand new cadillac... I changed their tire and made a quick 60 bucks :D

The next morning my front passenger side tire popped as a result of this dent

I have an appointment to go down to the insurance companies estimate place on tuesday at 3. My dad works for an insurance company and he told me it should be covered under my $100 deductable comprehensive. So hopefully I will be able to get a new set of rims, we'll see what happens...

    Here are the pictures..

    The aftermath...

u think im kidding but you can "sue" the city for it.... you pay for taxes and those roads arent supposed to be messed up.... as long as its on city property... then they are responsible.... it will be a annoying fight, but my neighbor where i used to live had 24's and hit a pothole and he got them to end up paying for his rim, only one got messed up....

Well, at least if you have to get new wheels you can pick out what you like.

You know, roads are just as bad in central PA, but out here they teach you to drive around the potholes. ;)

it was night... and I couldn't get around it.. I was doing 45 and cars were coming in the opposite direction.. I hit the brakes and beyond that there was nothing I could've done

hopefully they cut me a nice check... the old ladies I changed the tire for hired an attorney... I gave her the pictures and she called me and is in the process of sueing

Same thing happened to me with new wheels on my Z24 Cavvy. Bent the hell out of one of my rims so I took a piece of wood and a hammer and did my best to get it back into shape..for like 2 hours!! I ended up just buying a new rim. Sucks.

did the same thing to my front one when it popped... it has stress lines through the entire rim. I don't want to drive much longer on it... just a temporary fix

Just got home from the insurance place.. you won't believe how much money they gave me for this. $1152 to replace my rims and 1 tire!!!! with my deductable I recieved a total of around 900 to spend on a brand new set of rims! No insurance hike either.. in order to get an insurance rate increase the claim has to be more then 1200.. so i missed the cutoff by around $50 :D :D

I want to buy Zo6 Black rims with the polished aluminum tip, will my old tires that are on my car now fit the Zo6 rims?

x2, Some philly roads I think are just GAINT potholes.

O, and it's awesome when the lay down a HUGE sheet of steel to cover a hole in the road, cause wet steel is worse than ice sometimes.
