  • question about ground effects

The other day when waxing my car I noticed that the drivers side ground effect is out from the door more then the passangers side. It's not flush to the door like how it should be. How hard would it be to "tweek" it so it's flush to the door like the passangers side?

    Thanks all

The undercarriage of the car is bent a little. Its a chronic problem with F-bodies. Somebody did a write up on how to fix it, but I don't know the link.

Just put your car up on ramps or jack stands, get under there, find whats bent and pushing your fender out (which is making the side skirt push out), and hammer it back into place.

^ Yep. More than likely you need to unbolt the 2 10mm bolts holding the bottom of your fender to a metal tab underneath the car. Once the fender is pulled away hammer this tab so it is pointing straight down again. Then bolt the fender back up.

Commonly on our cars, mechanics bend these tabs against the undercarriage by lifting the car in the wrong spot.

thanks all but it's not my finder thats out, it's my ground effect that's under my drivers door. Can't I just unbolt it and try to push it back into position???? Like I said b4 the passangers side is fine but it's the drivers side that sticking out far.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
