• BMW M3 Rims

lol, heres my car on my friends BMW rims. They look so sweet cos the offset is crazy low. Its like 20-30 for both rims. they are 18" mili migra MRII's. However the rims are 18x8 and 18x9. looks like i'm sitting on skinnies when you look at the car from the front. What do ya'll think?

I dont really care for the design of the wheels, but gun metal sure does look good on your car.

Similar style to 2000 C5 wheels.

I'm all for wheels with lower than stock offset, but those are just a bit too much I think, at least on the rears... looks like they are just outside the fender. Maybe you could get away with 18x8 at all 4 corners, rather than the 18x9.

That and you'd definitely need to lower the car. Something needs done about that wheel gap.

Look for wheels in the 84-87 Corvette offset too. Those should be in the +40 neighborhood.

i really doubt he could lower it without scraping or rubbing with those rims. but i think they look sweet!

I would double check the mounting. I think I read somewhere that the BMW has very very similiar bolt pattern, but it just different enough to wiggle and shear off your wheel studs.

Maybe I am just thinking of one wheel style. I would just double check

no, the bolt pattern is exact. 93+ camaro/firebirds have the 120mm/4-1/2 Bolt pattern that the BMW's have. I like triple checked. :]

Lol, yeah, if i lowered, i'd cry. I'd have to BFH mod the rear fender lips. Damn tires stick out so far. they are like just barely inside the fender :\ I love them though. however, i want to lower teh camaro, but i'm afraid too :(

120.65mm actually, so it is dangerous.

there was recently a thread related to that. hockeyman picked up some rims with that pattern i think. you need to throw some extra part on there to even it all out. you'd have to search for that thread.

Most wheels are hub-centric, meaning the wheel is centered on the hub when slid into place. However, if the bolt pattern is correct, and the lug nuts and the bolt holes on the wheel are both tapered it should not move, regardless if the hub ring is present or not.

Now if the bolt holes are not centered on each stud, then the taper will not seat correctly. Whether a 5x120mm is exactly the same as a 5x4.75" is the question. I find it hard to believe though that half a millimeter would cause a problem.

I have seen it happen with my own eyes.
We spent about a week trying to figure out why a bmw was shaking, turns out, he bought wheels from an s10 thinking that 5X120 was the same as 5X4.75.

It is not. Ask any professional that knows what they are doing. 5X4.75 is a GM bolt pattern that they have used forever. 5X120 is a metric bolt pattern that BMW uses. A millimeter off center on a wheel is more than enough to cause a shake.
