Well after thinking about it today I decided that rims would be nice to have. But I need to start putting money elsewhere. I will be buying replacements for the ones that were damaged, new tires for the winter and the rest is going towards my student loans.
That means I will finally get to do a burnout comp video that i've been wanting to do for awhile :D

Since we are also trying to teach, I am going to add some specifics to phantom comments above
OEM = 235/55r16
The 235 is the width of the tire IN MILLIMETERS
The 55 is the tire height IN PERCENT OF WIDTH
The 16 is rim diameter IN INCHES
This all plays together to determine the circumference of the wheel with the tire on it. For speedo reasons, unless you have an HPP3 or can adjust the speedo calibration, you need to keep the circumference the same.
235 mm converted to inches is (25.4 mm/in) = 9.25 " wide
I found a good deal on stock chrome rims... So I just bought a set of 4... I can use my old tires on these so I won't have to buy tires for awhile and I will have a spare set incase something happens.
Check out my new rims:
Paid 550 for the set.. 145 for shipping.. a total of 695...
I'm in iraq and i just bought the C5 rims for my firebird. I'm really new to this kind of stuff. I have really never put as much as I have already on my firebird. Just wandering if anyone has ever seen them on a firebird maybe could tell me how they look compared to the Z06's
FYI. your stock rim is a 16. The Z06 is a 17. I dont know what the heck all these other people had to say, but yes, you will need new rim & tire sizes.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
