what kind of paint should i get to paint my brake calipers? is VHT Caliper Paint any good or i should go with Krylon or DupliColor? i'm probably going to paint them gloss black or a silver. leaning towards black though. also painting the rear drum brakes the same color.
also, has anyone tried the micheline brake dust repellent? saw it today at autozone and wondered if it works.

yes, it works. or get brakeleen, comes in a green aeresol can, i got it at pepboys for like 2 bucks. get hi-temp engine paint for the calipers, i also picked that up at pepboys. make sure you also get enough for clear coats!! search on this topic and you can see more, its talked about a lot.
I painted my calipers and it was easy. Less than $10, and it did not take more than a 30 min. it looks good, i would recomend that u do it yourself, just do it right. when i did it i did not tape or anything, as u can probily tell.

i did mine myself. Took longer than i thought so i had to rush to finish. Got one thick coat then put one thick of clear. I am going to sand them better and paint the outside ring of the caliper and put on my camaro decals, then do clear. 4 coats red, decals, four coats clear. Then let sit a couple hours.
Very easy to do if you can set the time aside. If you get in a hurry and need to run quick it will look not so good like mine do now.
So are yall saying painting the callipers will make them make noise?

never heard of that. Probably just have warped rotors or something if they squeek. Even from using lots of break cleaner (like i did) i dont think it would make them squeek.
well i'm painting them gloss black...at least thats what i have now. that sound good? i've got some custom "F-Body" decals i'm gonna put on them too before i clear coat them.

what kind of clear coat did you guys use? i went to wal-mart and couldn't find any...i'll check the other wal-mart later but still...what kind do i get?

Just go to an auto parts store andget some engine hi temp clear coat. I made the mistake of getting it "with ceramic". This made the red turn pink. Just get regular hi temp clear.

Well when I did it myself, I had just had my new brake pads installed and I didn't know that that grease they put on there IS SUPPOSED TO STAY! So I cleaned them good as hell, then painted them and later found out that that grease that's in your calipers, is supposed to stay. That grease is what stops the squeek, but when it's gone, you'll notice
