I have noticed that some of you that have newer firebirds have the firebird painted on the front Fasicia where the License Plate would be, I was wondering if you did the painting yourself, or if theres a aftermarket firebird License Plate front Fasicia that I can get that already has the firebird painted on.
well some paint and some just buy a vinyl(sticker thing) version from sites like
afterthoughtsauto.com http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/decals-emblems.html
lmperformance.com
or fourthcircledesigns.com to name a few
try searching the appearence forum if u havent yet, lots of good exterior ideas

i have the stock plate cover in front but i was thinking of putting the clear cuz i had an idea
if this has been thot of and/or done b4 please let me know
i thot it mite be kinda cool to take the clear one and put the vinyl sticker on it, and instead of a license plate behind it put 1 or 2 lights behind it so the light shines through but u see the bird symbol. kinda like the batman symbol but for us a firebird
and here in cali im supposed to remove the cover and put my plate too but i leave the cover cuz i think it looks better. for some reason the cops, here at least, are car racist. import cars get pulled over for not having a front license but corvettes and birds roll around and nothing
I got a ticket for not having my license plate the other day. I wasn't even driving the car. The car was parked outside my girlfriend's apartment. I'll pay the 40 bucks but there is no way I am putting a license plate in front. The car look so much better with the plate cover in front.
Personally I use all Brent Franker vinyl decals on my car. Check my sig for pics. I bought a reflective black metallic one for the front and it looks great!
Well I looked at the clear plate but thats illegal in NJ too. My friend got pulled over for having a clear plastic cover on his. I think thats crap.
Oh I saw something where some guy painted his clear plate black except for the raised part where the bird is and put LEDs behind it... looks wicked.

Please don't buy vinyl from Afterthoughts. too expensive but I would recommend the blemished clear front cover. For all of those that have one, if you want to make the firebird stand out a little better, do some wet sanding with 200 - 400 grit paper. It will turn semitransparent. I can email a pic if you want, I would rather not show my plate to the world.
