• Rear lettering between taillights

Hey i was wondering whats the best way to remove the red firebird lettering thats on the rear in between the taillights? I saw that DarkECHO did it and it looks so much better that way. Any suggestions?

i got some 2k grit sand paper and sanded away.. it left it hazed and dull
then you have to get some kind of hand polish and go to town, you can make it look very very nice, just dont sand any more than you have too... or try the heat idea...

I have a plain center peice but it has two small dimples in it cause i was doing something with my tailights, and my sister needed a ride, so i got in the car drove to town came back and realized that the heat from the light bulbs hanging out sorta melted them a litte, i bought one from ebay and its a little scratched up but im getting polish soon. have fun and good luck, post pix!!!

Okay I just changed my mind lol. I bought some AVS blackouts and a couple overlays from Brent Franker. Instead of just taking the red decals off im going to put some new Reflective Black ones on and also Reflective Black in the PONTIAC beneath the lights. I think i just found my color scheme for my car. Pewter with Black touches on the outside and aluminum(sorry echo im kinda stealing your idea!)/chrome/anything silver and shiny i can find to compliment the interior. Nothing to crazy just some subtle touches but I think its gonna look awesome.

I sanded mine off. Maybe going to get silver or reflective red decals.

I used Wet and Dry paper - and plenty of water, to remove the decal. It then needs to be polished up to remove all the scratches.

What kind of polish do you recommend and where can I get it?

Well, over here, the stuff I used was T-Cut.
It's a cutting compound that's generally used to tidy up paintwork.
I'm not sure what the equivalent product is in the states though.
