brake caliper painting, red or black?

Go black with a silver firebird decal, I did that with my camaro, I think it looks awesome, especially with your rims. I personally think red is too much, black looks good and isnt too much.

Honestly, when lookin at your car... I would go with red. It would great on your car. U dont have too much going on...

i think that would look good, but i dont really think red would look bad either. i wouldnt do red if you have taillight blackouts though.

i like the red but i think im going to wait on this until i decide what other mods im going to do to my car. thanks for all the replies and comments, as you can see there are a few threads by me, im trying to get an idea of what to do to finally complete my exterior...
for now at least lol...

its weird how all the small things are what make or break the "look" if you know what i mean. for now i think im going to go black and silver, i have this other idea for the rear that might help tie things together, check out the painting the rear bumper thread ive got going for my plan!

1. Buy a brake dust spray or something to clean your calipers real nice, a can of high heat clear coat, a can of high heat (insert color here) and a paintbrush. I did not use a spray because it was easier to paint it on then to mask off everything and risk spraying the body of my car.
2. Jack up car and place on jackstands and take off all four wheels. Or do it one by one the hard way.
3. Clean calipers with spray or whatever else and begin to paint. Do a coat on each caliper and by time you finish the fouth you can start to do the second coats. repeat as many times as desired. Wait a day for them all to dry.
4. Buy some caliper decals from brent franker or whomever else and place them on the calipers when they are dry.(If you do not want anything on them skip this step)
5.Once everything is ready, begin to spray the high temp clear coat on very evenly and let dry. Repeat as many times as desired and you're done.

I tried to say everything I did so as not to get anybody confused even though some of the stuff is obvious lol Good luck hope this helps

i just had mine done professionally..$200 for all four, decaling, and clear coating

DarkEcho ..you'd be amazed at what can make or break the look..before track i was all show..my car has been through many transitions as far as look over the years..finally i figured everything out..got all of the mods to go together and compliment each other and just started placing last season..but now the track has me adicted [img]smile.gif[/img]
