Instead of doing face gauges, I was thinking about painting the gauge bezel. But to do a decent job, I need to separate it from the clear plastic. Seems like it is epoxied, and it looks like GM finally did a good job on something. Anybody know how to separate it with breaking it? I tried to take an exacto knife and cut, and I also tried to pry with a small screwdriver. No luck.

IIRC, there are several plastic locking tabs surrounding the gauge cluster. I think I am after that step. Here's a pic of the cluster since I am recharging my camera batteries. I want to detach the clear cover from the black piece after separating from the cluster. It looks like there is some sort of glue between the clear and the black. http://www.speedhut.com/15orders_el_...mber=12&bhcp=1

i know its different but my 93 had screws holding the plastic on the bezel... looks a lot better painted IMO
