Instead of doing face gauges, I was thinking about painting the gauge bezel. But to do a decent job, I need to separate it from the clear plastic. Seems like it is epoxied, and it looks like GM finally did a good job on something. Anybody know how to separate it with breaking it? I tried to take an exacto knife and cut, and I also tried to pry with a small screwdriver. No luck.

IIRC, there are several plastic locking tabs surrounding the gauge cluster. Release those tabs and the clear plastic comes off.Jason McCallister, Founder & Webmaster
West Tennessee F-Body Association, Inc.

2000 Camaro - Details

I think I am after that step. After I release the tabs I have a piece that has the clear plastic front connected to a black piece that sits on top of the gauge cluster, that is what I want to separate.Zaino; FireBatCave Decals; Red Inside

K&N Filter & Lid; Removed MAF screen; FRA; Raised Air Box; 180°F Stat; BMR STB; 3\" Catco & S-pipe; Borla Cat-Back; O2 Sim; HPPIII; NGK TR55s; Taylor 8mm wires

http://www.cardomain.com/id/cbass300

Here's a pic of the cluster since I am recharging my camera batteries. I want to detach the clear cover from the black piece after separating from the cluster. It looks like there is some sort of glue between the clear and the black. http://www.speedhut.com/15orders_el_...mber=12&bhcp=1

i know its different but my 93 had screws holding the plastic on the bezel... looks a lot better painted IMO
have you tried a hairdryer to heat the glue up and try to gently pry it off that way?-Aaron, AKA ATL2001
93 3.4L
www.ilfba.com
