• intrest in a genuine "bodykit" GP

heres the lowdown, i found a bodykit for the 98-02 camaro that i myself believe is the only one that looks good on a camaro. it is a genuine "bodykit"-meaning it replaces the front and rear bumpercovers, and the sideskirts should be molded to the body. heres the scoop though, i found the only distributor i could online (www.octanemotorsports.com) and they sell it for $2500 . now ive done some research and found a place that will custom make an exact replica of the kit for about $775 IF a group purchase of no less than 10 people can commit to it. now, considering that most GFX cost roughly between $500-600, i dont think its a bad deal.

to me, this kit adds a sense of uniqueness without going too much overboard. basically if you were to mold a xenon kit to the front of the camaro, and then mold an rksport rear youd get the basic concept of design. also the front grille maintains the basic original shape and location. now everone is entitled to their opinion on how it looks to them, but technically thats not my original intention in starting this thread. my intention is to see what kind of interest there is for a GP on a genuine bodykit, as there are GFX galore out there. the F-body community needs something like this in its market to stay alive. let me know of any interest about this and possibly getting a GP put together. as i stated before, this is not a thread to start commenting on how "rice" this looks or how "some one wouldnt be caught dead with that on their car", I want to see a show of intrest not opinion. obviously, if your intrest is favorable you should post that youd consider this purchase. if not, try to refrain from hitting the "quick reply" button and bashing me for even posting the topic in the first place. all i want is to keep things short and simple, and try to show the moderators on this board a sense of dignity that has been lost so many times in the past. the company that will make the kit is at http://www.racecreations.com/catalog...5a60a41d86f44f . thanks for the intrest.

the kit looks alright.. but if you want my honest opinion, it is WAY to ricey. the huge mesh grill is something you see on a honda.

Surprisingly I don't think they look that bad (other than the wing)

ok, Ill be nice, but first off that nowhere near resembles(sp?) a molded xenon or rk bumper. And to me that rear bumper doesnt look like it fits the best, kinda bulges where it meets the 1/4 panel, as well as the front looking like its wider than the rest of the bodykit. reminds me of nfs wide body kits. other than that I having nothing else nice to say. other than one question which is this company you e-mailed, what material are they going to make this out of?...if its glass that front bumper will be a memory even on 5mph collisions.

edit: oh ya and theres no indent on the front bumper for the camaro emblem which is a must.

its too wild for anything but a show car. the wing is just over the top, but then again so is the kit. not my style, but ive seen worse.

May those camaros RIP, and every other that body kit destroys. :(

But on a serious note. I am trying to help you. You probably wont find the response you are looking for here. Most people here are very conservative and like to keep their cars true to it history. This kit is too extreme.

You might have better luck on a V8 website, simply because they have so many members. And they seem to have more money.

                  Good Luck.

if you want an eclipse body kit, buy an eclipse. the mesh isnt even flush, it leans forward. there's no spot to put the camaro emblem.. I mean c'mon, even ricers flaunt their badges!!

I like the idea of a full replacement gfx kit, but this one is too japanese for my car!
