im sure this has been posted 1,000,000 times but i just looked at this forum and am lazy to look lol.. How much would it cost to convert my car from reg. to T-Tops.. cause i want it done.. and im looking to have someone do it for me. What all needs to be done? (estimate the price)

I think I read when MTMike first did his that it was somewhere around 400 for all the materials? I can't quite remember. If you want it done I would start doing research to figure out how to do it yourself, 98% of body shops will not cut into your roof.

i'm gonna be getting this done myself relatively soon.

if I can find an actual shop to do it, i'll get the price they quoted me and give it to you so you'll have a general idea how much it'll actually cost if you dont want to do it yourself.

I don't think this is something for "everyone" to read, alot of people don't know about T-top conversion. Anyways you'll probably get the people who know about it to reply by putting it in the topic. Several people have done this and last I heard someone was doing a writeup.

i wouldnt reccomend a t-top convsersion as a do it yourself thing. your car needs to be properly braced for it, because rememebr the entire body of your car flexes when you turn. and the last thing you want is your body to warp due to some holes you just cut in your roof.

The main suppor comes from the tbar-which doesnt get touched. Cutting the holes for the ttops does next to nothing, if anything to the structural stability of the car.

Dunno, I kinda stopped frequenting the board around the same time this was done the first time here. Someone was going to do a writeup and a few others had already ordered everything they needed. All I ever saw was some pictures and they looked good, could hardly tell they didn't come on the car.. just one small spot where the metal should have bent the other way.

Chris94Bird is right, theres next to no structural change.. our cars were built with T-tops in mind
