• Touch Up Paint

I locked my keys in my car yesterday and I had to bread in with a stiff piece of wire, but I scratched the paint just behind the window on my car. I have '97 Camaro, White with that black center section. The black part is what got sratched up. It is not really that bad but it does need some paint to prevent it from rusting.

My question is where can I buy this color paint..?? Can I just go to my local Autozone or is the dearlership the only place I can get it..??

Any help would be greatly appreciated... Not a huge emergency but I do want to get it fixed...

Your local Wal-Mart will have it. Write down your vin # it should have the paint code. They sell Scratch-Fix paints by Dupli-Color. They will have a book by the rack to help find the paint # in the vin #. It is a little thing like a fingernail polish container with a little brush in it. Sell for under $3.00. Good luck.

does this stuff really do a good job to make the paint look good again? I have like 1 little spot on my doors (right at the edge where it rolls over) where I might do this.

Found it at lunch toady. I have already fixed the area that I scratched up.

If you are asking does this look like a professional paint job, no. If you are asking did I do good enough with this stuff for you not to notice the scratches just from a short distance then yes it is good enough.

Costs me $2.97. A shop probabaly would have charged at least $150 for my problem. Is it good enough not to spend the other $147.03...?? My answer is yes.

Just take your time and go slow and only in one direction. I actually also bought some 1500 Grit Sand Paper made for finishing paint, which brought the grand total, with TAX, to $5.34.

          I am satisfied.

What did you bread in with? Sometimes sourdough can be a little abbrasive. I would have breaded in with either white or wheat and saved the paint. ;)
