Spacers are fine, I'm tellin ya. Those people he's seen come in with broken cars prolly drove Fords, the older ones are notorious for the entire axle just sliding out. They're held in the rear end with a bearing, and when the bearing wears out, the axle comes out. Wheels also come off when people don't tighten up lugs right. I guess MustangEater is right about adapters though. Spacers and adapters are different.
