appearance- firebird v6 & v8

so i was trying to figure out the appearance difference in the v6/v8.. checked out some ebay auctions. now i am even more confused.

this one is a v8, but has a low wing on the back like the v6..

this is also a v8, but with the big wing. i think this is what the v8s look like.

but then i saw this one and it confused everything, its a v8 with the v6 looking front bumper and rear hatch

Convertibles come with the small spoiler not matter what model, trans ams come with the high rise unless its a convertible and all the rest have a low one unless the owner changed it. That last one is a formula, it's a v8 with the v6 looks [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yes, v6s and z28s have the same appearence unless changed by the owner. And SS's all look the same as well whether they're convertible or not).

From the factory...

Z28 looks like a V6 except that it has Z28 badges and dual rectangular exhaust tips.

SS has a hood scoop, a higher more rounded wing, SS badges, SS wheels (17 in), and usually round exhaust tips.

There is a 93 (I wanna say) teal Trans Am in my town that has T-Tops and has a low rise spoiler...what's up with that?

The high rise spoiler may have been an option that year since it was the first year of that model. That's my only guess...

Correct me if i'm wrong but dont formulas look like v6s

formula's r tha same except 4 the formula side print and they sit lower. t/a's are different b/c of the side print, spoiler, and the front clip has 2 centered fog lights whereas the firebird has foglights spaced more towards the sides.

In 93 the Trans Am had a "GT" package with high rise wing. I believe in either 94 or 95 they dropped the new package and just kept the high rise.

93: Trans Am debuts with wing.

94: Trans Am GT debuts, steals wing from Trans Am (which goes to the V6/Formula spoiler).

95: Trans Am Gt dropped from lineup. Trans Am regains wing.
