  • PLACEMENT OF EXHAUST TIPS

I wanted to put new 3 inch exhaust tips on my 1995 firebird. There are three postions they could be placed.

    1. Flush with the bumper
    2. Alittle bit inside the bumper
    3. Past the outside of bumper, sticking out

Personally I think they are all good ideas and work fine. How did you guys position yours?

Make them stick out a little bit farther than the bottom of the bumper.

DO NOT put them inside the bumper unless you point them down. I had mine just inside and the heat from the exhaust cook my paint. Yes cooked my paint. The paint turned black which I thought I could just clean the next weekend. WRONG! My paint flaked off and now I have two black cracked spots where the tips used to be. I had longer pipes put in that take the tips 1.5 inches past the lower part of the bumper. I have not had any problems since.
