i was thinking about finding somewhere to do a custom targa top on my car since i have the coupe (just the center section of the top removed) does anybody have this or does anyone know how much something like this would cost?

there's a guy on ls1.com I think (or camaroz28.com) who has it done.

his car looks pretty awesome, but I think putting in a tagra top would cause some problems in the car because of the middle bar missing. the frame might twist, and it would probably be hard to do (getting a solid piece of glass to put on the top instead of regular t-tops, etc)

there's a guy in orlando that has it done to his Z. his name on camaroz28.com is Whistler. i saw his car at SLP day in orlando and the targa top looks pretty sweet. i'm pretty sure he's had no problems w/ it. of course he works at a body shop and does a lot of custom work to camaro's.

i would think the hardest thing would be to find a good body shop to do it, cuz its not exactly a regular job, and i dont know of any shops in the greater philadelphia area

I don't think you'll have that many problems, car collapsing wise. There are such things as convertibles right? Just be willing to spend some extra money on extra suspension. A good custom body shop should be willing to do it for you. If they don't, then they're not a good custom body shop and they can't do it. As for how much it will cost, there isn't one fixed rate. Every place will quote you a different price. But i'll tell you right now your going to have to shell out some extra money. Custom stuff isn't cheap.
