  • Painting Calipers!! please look..different question

Im gonna paint my calipers tomorrow but i forgot to buy brake cleaner to clean off my calipers with.

What can i clean my calipers off with so i can get them pretty clean so the paint wont chip off really fast??
or do i have to go and buy brake cleaner?

    oh yeah...
is paint that can take heat up to 1200 degrees alright for my calipers??

Use a wire brush to clean it. Or use a drill with the wire-mesh polisher wheel in it to clean it. This will nearly give it a polished look.

To clean the surface nicely, use rust remover.. that is what I did on my rear drums.. i only cleaned my front calipers using the drill/wire-msh polisher method..

900 degree paint is enough either, I suggest you do multiple THIN! (Thin is key!) coats of your desired paint color by applying each coat 30 min apart in a dry condition.. then wait 1-2 hours and apply the clear coat.

After than, either leave overnight or wait multiple hours for it to fully dry.
