Will these work the correct way unlike 155 ones that have tachs off?

Well actually 10SecDream was going to use about a 50 shot on top of 15 lbs of boost and wasn't too worried about 200 mph. His major plan to get more power out of the engine was to increase the redline from 6000 to 7000 rpm which is good for some hp there. And actually it was only to spool up the super and not to try and break 200 mph. And sorry you are right it was a bonneville. And I believe he topped it out at about 213. Check the lounge and see if it's still archived somewhere. Actually the reason nitrous and compression work so well together is because nitrous helps to prevent detonation. Here is a lesson for everyone here about maximum tolerances in the engine. First of all most Grand Nationals that are highly modified are running almost 30 lbs of boost through the engines. Now here is the interesting thing about the amount of boost an engine can take, it depends on 4 factors really. The piston rings, the cylinder wall, the octane of the fuel and the ability of the valves to seal in all that pressure. Piston rings can be strengthened to the same level of quality that some vehicles running 50 lbs of boost have running 3-4 rings on the piston will also help. The block isn't going to blow out on a 15 lb and 150 shot that much I'm sure of, worst case scenario you can buy an aluminum block from GM in any strength you want and have it bored and built to the specs you need. As for octane this is the major factor here, some race engines can only safely run 10-12 lbs of boost on a street gas application, but can bost that number to over 22lbs safely without blowing up the engine. The reason is higher octane resists detonation better than lower octane and higher engine pressure make detonation more likely. Detonation is in essence a spontaneous combustion of highly compressed fuel that causes irratic piston movement. Now the final problem is the sealing capabilities of the heads and valves. Well if someone out there is running 30 or 40 lbs through there engine then obviously there is a way to make sure the valves seal as well as the head gasket. Now here is the reason nitrous loves compression. Nitrous helps reduce detonation by increasing the density of the incoming air to the engine and cooling it off as well. A stand alone fuel management system would also be very helpful in making this setup work. But will set you back half the value of the car. Everyone should read up on GM's latest concept Trans Am. It has a 540 rwhp N/A engine, that can safely run a 300 shot of nitrous. Finally you have to look at what you are trying to accomplish, are you trying to build the world's fastest V6 that will make 1-2 runs before needing to be rebuilt or are you planning on actually driving this car around? A stock car on average is good for about 3000 miles, but produces 760 hp. So I know with a wastegate and self control you could baby it, but chances are you won't. If you want a 600 hp daily driver, then buy a corvette, otherwise keep modifying it and see where you end up. I'll tell you this, I've done quite a bit of work on my car and spent quite a bit of money on it and while i like it greatly I would not do it again.
If I could go back I would buy a 1967 firebird 400 convertible and put a 925 hp merlin 609 in it and retrofit it with newer suspension and driveline components and 4 wheel disk brakes and call it a day when i hit $25000 total costs. It would in essence be a 25K car that would run 8's and pop wheelies for under the price of a new Trans Am.
Otherwise good luck my friend and we shall see who ends up where when all the dust settles.That\'s not a tool that\'s a damn brick!
