  • Picture of my cover plate for the tape area

It is plexi-glass with spray on bed liner to give it texture. I used magnets glued onto the back of the plexi-glass and onto the inside of the tape holder area to hold it in place.

Problem came when I tried to drill a hole in it for a switch, it broke in half. Hours upon hours of careful sanding to make the thing fit just right went down the tube.

So, anyone know of a way to drill through plexi-glass without breaking it?

Put some duct tape over where you are going to drill and go slowly.

Put masking tape over the area, Drill a small pilot hole, then switch to the larger bit that you need for the switch. Go slow and don't put a lot of pressure on the plate. Let the drill do all the work.
