I put my new stainless exhaust tips on. I bought them off of eBay. They are Z28 style tips, except the inlet is in the center of the tip, rather than offset like real Z28 tips are. The exhaust shop (Midas) did PERFECT work, just the way I wanted it. Pefectly symetric, perfectly even...just perfect. One problem, though: With the way the tips are shaped, it changes sound in a weird way. At certain RPMs, it sounds like there is a hollow "humm", and on few occasions (accelerating directly after starting the car, happens only THAT one time), a sharp buzz. I don't know why Oh well, I'll take these good looking stainless tips with that sound problem over the other chrome crap I had on before
I also painted my headlight brackets white to match the color of my body. They were originally black. You can't see it in the pics (or even in person until you look very closely), but I used a grit too rough for sanding the plastic during prepping, and now you can see some sandpaper marks through the paint. In one pic, you can see some spots; that's just dirt I also painted the black bracket that holds the actual headlight in place.
Now for the bad :( Driving along, pulling into a parking lot, I bent my passenger side BMR Boxed SFC. The lot was gravel, and I ran over a really old, dead tree stump (decayed to gray like the gravel) that I didn't see. No, my car is not lowered. What happened was I felt the wheel go over it, then I heard WHAM and felt the whole car shake. The boxed tubing hit the stump, and bent the plate that welds to the car (Just goes to show you how boxed tubing is strong). I pooed myself, thinking the whole chassis was screwed up. Its not, the doors swing fine, windows role up and seal fine, and so do the T-tops, trunk, hold, body lines, etc. Still handles fine as well...except now they are bent, so if I choose to sell the SFCs, I will have to sell them for a dirt cheap price because of this
Oh, and now you can see my Trans Am tailights I have as well in the pics.
My brother doesn't like the exhaust tips, but oh well...everyone has dual dual outlets.
