Ok well I was bored so I decided to do some painting. I followed sandmans directions to a t. I did one piece (the plate around sgs button) first in case I screwed up. I sanded it down with 400 then 800 grit, it was d@mn smooth. then 3 coats of primer, 6 paint, 3 clear coat. and the problem is it's not as glossy as I wanted it. I mean if you look at sandmans it's perfectly glossy, looks like glass. I was hoping for that look. Mine is smooth, but not as much as I wanted. Anyone have any idea anything I could have done wrong? I used dupicolor universal black, it's black metallic, looks pretty cool, I don't know if the metallic specks make it not smooth or what. It didn't look smooth after I primered it could that be the problem? Is there anything I can rub it down with to smooth it out? any ideas? thanks
edit: oh and does anyone know how to get the ash tray lid out of a 97 auto firebird? Do I have to take the console out?
