  • NOT impressed with Zaino

I finally got my zaino and worked on it all day.
Started at 4 and ended at 11.

From what iv done, I can not tell ANY difference from before I started and now. I compared side by side a part I did and didn’t do. And it leaves a white haze on some parts and you gotta keep wiping it.
The only thing I can notice that is different is that the car is really smooth. It still is a dust magnet, and there was not shiny improvement.

My car is only a few weeks old so it still has a great paintjob from the factory. The only thing iv used on the car is dawn dishwashing soap. No waxes or anything.

So whats the deal?!! This sure doesn’t seem like its worth 90$. Below are the exact steps I did and that’s all iv done so far. Am I missing something? Did I do something wrong? For a days work and 90$ im not to happy with the results.

I washed the car first. Read over the instructions a couple times.
I did the water and Z7 mix for the cleaner.
I sprayed the parts I was working on and rubbed the clay thing on it.
I let it dry then I took the cleaner mix and rewashed the area. Dried it spotless.
Then I got some Z5 and put it in the mixing container half full and put 5 drops of the ZFX. Shook for 5-7 minutes. Put some on the pad it came with and rubbed it on the clean area so I could see a slight haze.
Then I waited 3 hours then wiped it off.
Then I took the Z6 spray and sprayed the area and wiped it dry right away.

Sorry bro... try some Meguiars gold class and save your money... Thats the only thing I've ever tried that makes the car look like it has a coating of liquid glass on it.

I love Zaino. But I also use Liquid Glass. It's old great stuff that works wonders. I would rate taht #2 for products I've used. You can' tbuy it at all car stores. Pep Boy's usually has it. it runs about $16-$17 a bottle but worth every penny!

Do several coats, then you will get to see the real depth of it. If you don't like the results then you ARE doing it wrong, because black cars have the highest reflective properties, and when Zaino is used on black cars it turns out with the best finish on any car.
And Cardinal you really need to shut your mouth, you don't know anything about the Zaino line so how can you pass judgement over it like it's a bad thing?

You wont catch me doing SEVERAL coats of wax, mainly b/c i'd be in the HOT florida sun.

I'll just pay a detailer to do my car, comes out just as good PLUS they do the engine and interior.

I don't think he was bashing Zaino. Looks to me like he was just saying he likes Meguirs.

RealWave: I have heard only good things about zainos so you might as well try a couple coats. That sucks though.

Use multiple coats and build it up. You'll notice a huge difference over time. I've been using it for several years now and wouldn't use anything else. Ask those around that have seen my car and for a 95 it's in quite good condition paint wise.

If you were paying attention you will see that The Sandman realized his response was inappropriate. Talk about making things personal and "jumping someone"... aren't you doing the same by telling the moderator how to do her job??

Well, I'm no wax expert, but since your car is a 2002, it has brand new paint, I would think it would be very hard to make it look any better, It'd would probly take a year to really make a difference, usually once the clearcoat starts to wear down. Plus, since you have brand new clear coat, the clear coat is pretty much the same thing as wax, and after driving it and creating uneven surfaces over the clear coat, the wax helps smooth it back out.

So I would think it would be atleast a year before you would noticed a difference, but keep using the wax, it will help make your clearcoat last a long time, esspecially if you get started while the paints still pretty new.

I need a good wax for my car, I have a 97 and its really hard to tell that I even have a clearcoat on my car, but I have to leave my car outside all the time, so I need something that will work great, any suggestions? not zanio, not worth ordering through mail, I rather go buy it from a store. Right now I have Mothers, Turtle Wax(my mom gave it to me, I don't use it though) and this other brand which has a red saleen mustang on it. Any of these will work good, or is their something better? Thanks
