Painting Calipers?

I have a Sunset Orange Metallic Firebird so I painted my calipers with a high temp orange paint. The only problem is the caliper paint does not amtch the color fo my car. I'm wondering if i can put a few coats of sunset orange metallic paint over the 4-5 coats of high temp paint i already have on them. Is this a good idea?

just paint it over using sunset orange (3-5 coats), get high temp clear coat paint, and paint the sunset orange over a few times...
