• 96 to 98 Conversion

I'm thinking I'll start saving come July and just keep on saving until I can either get either forced induction or redesigning the front of my bird to make it look like a 98. Yes, I know it's expensive. What's my reason? This is going to be my car for a long time since I'm a college student. I heard it's about ~$2500 to do the conversion.

Has anyone done this here? If so, what parts did you need? I'm REALLY considering doing this once I have the means I just really like the style and I'm still going to be financing for another year and a half so I'm not going to be trading in anytime soon.

Personally I like the front of the 93-97s better, I still ilke the 98up but If I were you, i'd go for the Forced induction, you'll enjoy it alot more :D

Also, You might even think about getting a body kit(Factory's the best one IMO) and that would be even better then changing your front end.

Very true. I also just thought if I got into an accident I would of wasted all that money - and that would SUCK  .

I think I may do ground effects, but aren't the factory ones a sheetload of money?

Yeah, but I've heard very bad about West wing and they are the only ones that make them other then GM, Gms is 1,024 at www.gmpartsdirect.com but thats the only way I know you can get one unless you go to a salvage yard, they MIGHT have a firebird with factory GFX, guess you'll just have to look around and see what you like, have you seen's West wings?

I think your asking for troubles changing the front, and you won't have the side vents. I saw a conversion kit on e-bay for the camaro so check there if your interested. I like the 98+ firebird look better but the 93-97 looks unbelieveable w/ground effects. I doubt you will find gfx in a junk yard. There are almost never F-body's of any year in junkyards around here. Look around on e-bay I'm sure some day someone will have theirs for sell.

just buy the T/A front bumper. it should bolt right up and it costs around $500. that front end looks the best of the firebird family.

Wolf, I don't believe that site has pictures. I already have GFX, but if I was buying I wouldn't without pictures first...
